Wandrith Motorcycle Journeys runs self-guided motorcycle tours of Aotearoa New Zealand: four journeys of 7 to 28 days on BMW and Royal Enfield motorcycles we own, with the route in our own app and every night booked somewhere special. We are a New Zealand company, Wandrith Limited.
- 7 to 28 days, across four journeys
- 4 models BMW and Royal Enfield, every one ours
- 1 app your route, your call: side quests and alternate routes
- 2× each journey’s estimated emissions, offset with native trees
Who runs it
Wandrith was founded by Patrick Brennan. When you book a discovery call, you talk to the team that plans your route: the dates, the bike, the roads and where you stay each night.
We run self-guided journeys and nothing else. You ride on your own, at your own pace, with everything arranged before you land. For simpler stays, camping or motorcycle hire in New Zealand, our sister brand intrepidUs covers it: see Wandrith and intrepidUs.
The fleet we own
We own every bike in the fleet. You ride the exact model you book; there is no “bike class”.

How a journey is put together
Planned for riding
Sealed roads almost all the way, a rest day on every journey (more on the longer ones) and days planned around the daylight. There are a few short stretches of gravel, such as the road into Mount Lyford and the last stretch to Paradise; our roads guide has more.
Somewhere special every night
A night by the surf at Piha. A hot tub under the stars. The Hermitage, below Aoraki / Mount Cook, and Franz Josef, where the glacier comes down to the rainforest. Hotels, serviced apartments and the odd log cabin, each chosen for the stay itself or for the setting. Once your deposit is paid, we book your accommodation straight away.
The whole route in the app
About 60 days before your journey starts (or once your stays are confirmed, if you book later than that), the whole route goes into the Wandrith Journey App, turn by turn for the bike’s screen, with fuel stops, cafés and side trips. The Cook Strait ferry (Interislander or Bluebridge), where a journey crosses it, and the tolls on the route are booked and paid for.

If something goes wrong
Every bike has roadside assistance from the AA, a satellite emergency beacon, a first aid kit and a puncture plug kit. After a breakdown, call the AA’s roadside assistance first, then let us know and we’ll arrange what you need. After an accident, make sure you are safe, follow any instructions from the police or emergency services and call us as soon as you can. If the weather or a cancelled ferry stops the day, we help you change the journey where we reasonably can.
Insurance. Full specialist motorcycle insurance cover is included.
Licences and memberships
Wandrith Limited, NZBN 9429052508011 · Transport Service Licence 0339034 · a current Certificate of Fitness on every motorcycle · listed in the Tourism New Zealand operator database. We offset twice each journey’s estimated emissions by planting native trees with Trees That Count.
